Crackdown On Illegal Vet Clinics & Diagnostic Centers in Kolkata #JusticeForPhuchka
The Issue
I lost my cat, Phuchka, who was no less than a child to me. He died due to negligence and wrong diagnostic reports week after week. Upon sharing my experience about this on social media, I was shocked to see the number of pet-parents who have had same or similar experience with their pet's reports. Sign my petition to ensure that no pet-parent has to go through what we did.
Phuchka was not eating his food, but was okay otherwise. His lack of appetite concerned us and on August 8, I got his Heamoprotozoa (a test to assess infections that are transmitted by ticks and fleas) done. The report came 'Negative' and we were relieved. But because Phuchka wasn't improving, we got an advanced test for the same assessment done after 10 days of the first report and the report AGAIN said 'Negative'.
Dissatisfied with the reports, as Phuchka's health continued to deteriorate, I went to another vet diagnostic center on August 23, where his report for the same test came 'Positive'. We immediately started medication, but it was too late. We lost our Phuchka on August 27, what remained was the endless guilt of getting him tested at the wrong diagnostic centre. If you sign my petition, then the government could order regular audits and surprise checks of vet clinics & diagnostic centres in Kolkata.
Phuchka will never come back to us, but lots of animals can be saved from the clutches of illegal vet care centres, if you join me in asking the government to crackdown on illegal and unqualified vet clinics and diagnostic centres and their machinery, in the city. I request you to sign this petition and share it with everyone you know in order to save animals from dying due to vested interests and negligence of unauthorised institutions.
