The Parkside Junior Football Club has exploded in participant numbers since its inception in 2006 - whilst having access to ONE sporting oval: Pitcher Park.

We have 16 junior teams, 5 of which are girls team. 4 senior football teams, one FIDA team and one senior women's team. This is a lot for one sports oval to handle. 

Alphington Park is located nearby, yet due to it being in a different council PJFC has repeatedly been denied access to co-share the oval with the local soccer team. Younger junior teams (U8-U10) play on an area roughly one third of a full sized oval, games are short and wear on the oval very minimal.

The goal of this petition is to encourage the City of Yarra to allow PJFC access to Alphington Park located on the border of Yarra and Darebin City Council. With close to 5000 new residents coming into the area with the AMCOR site development, families will want to choose Parkside for their children rather than travel to a club further away. 30% of PJFC members are residents and rate payers in the City of Yarra.

Other clubs in the Yarra Junior Football League will also appreciate not having to travel to our current remote "second" grounds located up to half an hour away from our long-term home of Alphington.
