This is for City of Yarra residents

On Wednesday 21 November City of Yarra installed eighteen London Plane trees in Wellington Street Collingwood.  These trees were installed without consulting local residents and in contradiction of councils Urban Forest Strategy - London Plane trees have significant  implications for public health and also cause damage to drains as well as footpaths and roads. Many residents are impacted by these trees and it is time to stop iand remove London Plane trees from Yarra.

When I spoke with the City of Yarra arborist he did not answer of my questions and accused me of making up the abundant research that clearly shows the impacts of these pollen powerhouses on public health - he said I was lying.  I wasn't. And that's why I have finally had enough with our council and this obsession with what is a totally inappropriate and potentially dangerous tree..

We recently had a terrible thunder storm where twelve people died in Melbourne.  The high pollen count was implicate but council continues to plant these pollen powerhouses, the London Plane tree. What is even worse than this blatant disregard for the public's safety is the fact that this heavy handed action by the City of Yarra totally contradicts their own "Urban Forest Strategy" which mandates that this tree is over represented in our city.
