"Wirral's Green Belt is yet again in danger. Prenton Golf Club has submitted a planning application to relocate their golf clubhouse on to Green Belt land. To finance it they want to build 22 executive homes on Green Belt.
This development will destroy over 70 mature trees and ponds which are natural habitat for local wildlife. Members of this private golf club were given three options to consider. The first was to renovate the existing clubhouse, the second to knock it down and rebuild it on its existing site, both options not encroaching on Green Belt. The third was chosen because it would cost the members nothing. That was to build the new clubhouse on Green Belt land and pay for it by selling off the existing site and Green Belt for houses.
When the club realised the strength of local opposition they contacted all members asking them to write to the council in support of the plans. Not surprisingly the council then received 291 letters in support of the development, many from people living miles away from the site. Could you please log onto Wirral Council planning website and register your objection to the plans ASAP.
The application number is APP/19/00501. The link to it is here:
We have to save as much of our precious Green Belt as we can."
