Defend Wirral's Green Spaces
Mar 3, 2023

Dear Supporters,

Jones Homes own a large parcel of Green Belt Land between Frankby Rd and Grange Cross Lane, Newton and want to build 250 houses on it.

They are CHALLENGING WIRRAL'S BROWNFIELD ONLY LOCAL PLAN and have made Representations to the Local Plan Inspector arguing for Green Belt to be released for development.

PLEASE DONATE TO THE WIRRAL GREEN SPACE ALLIANCE LEGAL FIGHTING FUND TO HELP CHALLENGE THESE DEVELOPERS AT THE LOCAL PLAN EXAMINATION IN PUBLIC:

Jones Homes have commissioned Peter Brett Associates to undertake ecological surveys of these fields. They have concluded that these fields have no ecological or environmental importance. They dismiss the presence of overwintering birds and the functional links to the Dee Estuary SPA (Special Protection Area) stating that they do not use the fields in significant numbers.

If you want to read Jones Homes' representations to the Local Plan inspector, click on the following link and select "LPSD 857-859":

PLEASE DONATE TO OUR LEGAL FIGHTING FUND, WE WANT TO HAVE LEGAL REPRESENTATION AT THE LOCAL PLAN INSPECTION, CHALLENGING THE DEVELOPERS ON YOUR BEHALF.

We believe the Council's Housing Need Figure of 835 houses per year is too high, Jones Homes believe it should be EVEN HIGHER, at least 1200 houses per year and therefore Green Belt should be released.

Developers have submitted 100s of documents to the Local Plan Inspector. We need legal representation to challenge these. Legal fees are incredibly expensive. We have had many generous donations but we need MUCH MUCH MORE!.

Please donate as much or as little as you can afford. Whether it is £1 or £100 it will all help to Save the Green Belt.

Thank you for your support
