Dear Supporters,
Barratt / David Wilson homes want to build 390 houses on Green Belt at on Chester Road, Heswall, including Gayton Park. They propose to relocate Gayton Park to behind Beers Timber Yard next to the railway line.
Barratt are part of "The Wirral Development Consortium" who are challenging Wirral's "Brownfield only" Local Plan. They have submitted 100s of documents to the Local Plan Inspector and have an expensive legal team lined up to make representations at the Local Plan Examination in Public.
The Development Consortium includes THIRTEEN HOUSE BUILDERS and Local LANDOWNERS. They have employed a Senior Barrister, Rupert Warren KC, who is a Planning Law expert. He specialises in obtaining planning permission on Green Belt and appealing the need to provide "affordable houses"
PLEASE DONATE TO OUR LEGAL FIGHTING FUND TO CHALLENGE THESE DEVELOPERS AT THE LOCAL PLAN EXAMINATION IN PUBLIC.

The Development Consortium argue the Wirral Council's Housing Need Figure of 835 houses per year is too low. Barratt argue that the figure should be at least 1200 houses per year and that Green Belt must be released to meet the higher figure.
The Development Consortium argue that the Brownfield sites identified by the Council are not viable and that Green Belt must be released instead.
Wirral Green Space Alliance are asking for donations to a legal fighting fund so that we can have legal representation at the Local Plan Examination in Public - challenging the developers ON YOUR BEHALF. The Developers have banded together in a Consortium, the people of Wirral must band together to stop them destroying our environment.
Please donate as little or as much as you can afford and thankyou for your support.
