Dear Supporters,

Its not just Leverhulmes who are threatening Wirral's Green Belt. THIRTEEN HOUSE BUILDING COMPANIES have set up a WIRRAL DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM to CHALLENGE Wirral Council's Brownfield Only Local Plan - WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CHALLENGE THESE DEVELOPERS

We need your help - please donate:

The Consortium includes some of the largest landowners, developers and land promoters on the Wirral. The Consortium have also employed the legal services of a Senior Barrister, Rupert Warren QC (now KC)

Rupert Warren specialises in planning law, his legal firm's website boasts that he has experience in securing planning permission on Green Belt sites and "successfully advancing 0% affordable housing development of 400 units on appeal"

This Barrister has been employed by these house builders with the sole purpose of challenging Wirral Council's "Brownfield Only" Local Plan.

THEY WANT TO BUILD ON GREENBELT ACROSS THE WIRRAL - THEY WANT TO BUILD ON GREEN BELT NEAR YOU!

PLEASE DONATE TO OUR LEGAL FIGHTING FUND - WE WANT TO HAVE A LEGAL REPRESENTATIVE AT THE LOCAL PLAN INSPECTION, CHALLENGING THE DEVELOPERS ON YOUR BEHALF.

Wirral Green Space Alliance want to employ their own legal representative to challenge the Consortium at the Local Plan Inspections.

We believe the Council's housing figure of 835 houses per year is too high - the Consortium is arguing that the figure should be EVEN HIGHER (at least 1159 houses per year) and that Green Belt should be released to meet the higher figure.

We believe, like the Council, that there is enough Brownfield sites to satisfy the housing need. The Consortium are arguing that the brownfield sites are not viable and that Green Belt must be released.

They have submitted hundreds of documents (representations) to the Local Plan Inspection - we need to challenge these.

Please donate as much or as little as you can afford - legal fees are incredibly expensive. We have received many generous donations already but we need much, much more - the developers have banded together, the people of Wirral need to band together too. Wirral Green Space Alliance will engage a legal team to represent the people of Wirral but we can to it without your help.

The house builders in the Consortium include:

Barratt

Bellway Homes

Bloor Homes

Countryside Properties

Elan Homes

Leverhulme Estates

Stewart Mill Homes

Mill Lane Estates

Persimmon Homes

Redrow Homes

Russell Homes

Story Homes

Taylor Wimpey

The house builders representations can be found here:

Thankyou for your support - every little really does help!
