Unfortunately there has been significant miss information on this subject. The requirement to have dogs on leads will only apply to a few very specific instances as outlined in the consultation below.:-
“The order will apply to land across Central Bedfordshire which is used as a cemetery, burial ground, garden of remembrance, or marked sports pitch. It will also include all designated carriageways (A and B roads) and their adjoining footpaths and verges. Finally, the order will apply to the picnic sites and car parks only at Rushmere Country Park, Dunstable Downs, Houghton Hall Park, Sharpenhoe Clappers, Sundon Hills, Totternhoe Knolls picnic site, and Whipsnade Tree Cathedral - people will still be free to let their dogs off of leads on the majority of the land as they do now”
