Thanks you everyone for your support.  The outpouring of good wishes and good values for the future of our city is a wonderful thing.
 
We are facing an implacable foe, a city council in league with self-interested parties that will not heed the very clear questions and objections of the voters.  They are acting like demagogues.

Councillor Kerwin has told the group of us organizing this action that there is nothing we can do to stop it, no matter how many people express their objections, the KED project (which has never been open to public consultation) is going forward.
 
This is the language of defeatism that scoundrels use to trick people out of their democratic franchise.
 
IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR OUR COMMUNITY, OUR FAMILIES AND OUR FUTURE. 

That's why we are asking you all to personally join our campaign and make it your goal to get at least five further signatures to this petition.   We will find growing strength in these numbers and in the solidarity of our fellow citizens. 
 
When we exceed 5000 names, it will be difficult for the City to ignore the petition and of course we believe it is possible for this number to be much higher. 
 
Look out for paper copies of this petition at merchants around the city being distributed this weekend but please be careful to only sign once either online or on paper.  We do not want to be accused of double dipping.  And will well-meaning couples please sign separately?!.  We need the support of both parties.. That will double the impact of your support and you are both still individuals after all!!! :)
