Thanks to the growing support for this petition and Costco’s chickens, we have amassed an incredible number of signatures from folks all over the world. Myself and head volunteer organizer for Mercy For Animals, an animal protection organization, delivered by hand all of our signatures to Costco’s Headquarters in Issaquah, Washington. The interactions we had with two security guards were both cordial and one of them promised to deliver our signatures to Costco’s President and CEO, Craig Jelinek. I hope that this will initiate more consideration by Costco executives of the issue at hand.
Please take 2 minutes today to call Costco’s Headquarters at 425-313-8100 and ask them to adopt the Better Chicken Commitment, a science-based, multifaceted welfare policy that would drastically improve the lives of Costco’s chickens. Costco staff have been sharing Costco’s website welfare statement with callers, but their current policy is not sufficient! We cannot stop until they have adopted the Better Chicken Commitment.
