Don't Deport My Dad
The Issue
My father is currently in removal proceedings. He is a 56-year-old Peruvian who has lived in New Jersey for 35 years. He is a member of the Carpenters Union and contributing to the economy. He and my mom were married for nearly 20 years and although their marriage dissolved, he still cares for her, his mother, and all of our family.
During this process, he was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and is undergoing continuous treatment at Hackensack Medical University Hospital awaiting a lifesaving bone marrow transplant.
Sign this petition to keep my dad in the United States!
The government cited poor moral character as their reason for deportation. In 1986, 31 years ago, my father smoked marijuana. I do not see how this reflects his character to the point of removal. Please help me keep my father here. Please help me save his life.
