Seriously - eyes-on is critical to our success. I'm usually not about blame, but the CA legislative process snuck past us this week and we were not aware and too late to "get on the docket" for today's CA Assembly agenda to comment on the inadequate edits to AB1222. We had "boots on the ground" at today's session but AB1222 skipped public comment and goes to the Assembly floor next, then the Senate. We NEED AB1222 referred back to some committee level scrutiny and to introduce more significant wording, NOT just tacit yadda wording extraction. Next step - the Assembly floor. After that the State Senate. We need to get into the 'opposition'/comment cycle and insist that some level of "the CHP memo" is included. We NEED to force AB1222 back to committee and discussion about appropriate 'exclusion' per the CHP enforcement memo. We need people watching for every step of Assembly and Senate opportunity to get qualifying 'language' into the end-result. We need 'eyes', 'ears', access to positively effect the common interests of ALL 2-way radio users. NOW!! THIS EFFORT *IS* ESSENTIAL. Help yourself and us help all of us. Many States are watching this... help keep us all on the right side of history.
