Submitted my first piece of legislation yesterday. OK, just suggestions for re-write of CVC 23123.5. "The Assembly" is hoping a simple 'opinion' from CalTrans (?) and CHP will dissuade law enforcement from citing two-way radio users. That does NOT change the law, and it leaves the on the affected citizens = not acceptable. 'Rumor' has it they may take up a "spot bill" to address this, effective the end of the year. We're still pushing for a petition from voters in Assy Dist 20 to request opening the bill under "urgency clause" to get it addressed sooner. Office staff reports they are flooded with calls about this - sad for them but they "got a clue." The easy way to make the calls go away is to fix the flaws! The momentum continues... hopefully "we got this". Stay tuned. We'll need more support to local legislators as this gets to the Assembly and Senate floors for votes.
