The Issue

Dog waste and refuse bins were removed by Cornwall council and Cornwall housing from across the county
Residents are the victims of less public services and higher council tax bills
Rubbish is now littered freely because the council mistakenly removed the bins
This appears to be  discriminatory, waste receptacles remain in high profile areas such as tourist towns with many taken from Cornwall's social housing estates .
The response is  a significant minority look for the established bins, no longer find them and leave the dog faeces on pavements, green spaces and grass verges There is no signage warnings of fines, police patrolling or street cleaning.
The outcome of this decision sends public and environmental health  back to the 60's when dog faeces disgustingly  covered pavements, public parks, lanes, alleyways and grass, nowhere was free of it.
With the added threat to health of an increase in rat infestation.
Karen La Borde Green party councillor for Gloweth, Shortlanesend and the Malabar estate in Truro, persuaded Cornwall councillors to return just one bin,   sited at a busy point outside the estate shop and bus stop ,previously there were two.
Cornwall council also removed a bin from the children's playground on the Malabar estate in Truro
When asked to confirm the bin was removed, two boys going to the play area,  responded vigorously,  saying they were blamed for the  litter now  inside their playground since the council removed the bin
They thanked Karen La Borde , effusively  for managing to get one returned outside the shop and bus stop
Where have the perfectly good bins ended up after Cornwall's residents paid for them?
In 2026 this is a backward step, residents and tourists to Cornwall deserve respect and equality of service, they enjoy green spaces, love to see birds and wildlife thrive.
Dog excrement has been widely recognised for years as a dangerous health threat to humans, especially children* and also livestock and yet here we are again with  Liberal Democrat leaders of Cornwall council turning the ''Well being clock'' back.
*https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/toxocariasis/ recognised years ago as dangerous
Cornwall residents ask Leigh (Frost) and Adam ( Paynter) , Cornwall council's  Liberal Democrat leaders, to reverse this detrimental decision.
Ensuring Cornwall council keeps in line with present day standards to  protect the public health of  tourists, residents, livestock, wildlife and nature, by returning the bins paid for by those same residents  and tourists (to our county and country.)
We kindly suggest the council may consider joining with the UK to support Baroness Natalie Bennet *in the House of Lords, with a bill she is proposing which will  legislate #RightsforNature
