The Issue

This petition echoes a cry for justice that was shamefully disregarded in a  Burlington County courtroom as recently as January 3, 2025.

On that day, Rebecca Halbach was sentenced to three years in prison for torturing and slowly killing hundreds of innocent rescue dogs, in addition to abusing and neglecting her very own young children.

Her children were forced to live with helpless dying dogs that were crying in pain, along with crates filled with rotting dog carcasses in every room of her home.  As if that wasn't horrific enough, Halbach forced her young daughter to retrieve the dead "exploded" dogs in the attic with her bare hands so Halbach and her husband Brandon Leconey could coldly dump them in mass grave in the backyard.  The very same yard and grave that the depraved, heartless Halbach and Leconey duo hosted outside family events and allowed their kids to play.
Not only did her contempt for animal life lead to the death of numerous innocent beings, but her irresponsibility also caused severe mental and emotional distress to the people who had entrusted their beloved animals under her care.  These invisible wounds will never, ever heal.

Such was the level of Halbach's disregard that it signifies a broader reason to keep her behind bars for the entire 3-year term.

There is not a sufficient amount of courses, classes, or therapy to rehabilitate a soulless pathological liar who is desperate for freedom.  She has fooled hundreds of trusting people already, and she will say and do anything to appease the board for an early release.

WE HAVE NOT NEARLY BEGUN TO HEAL AND WE DO NOT WANT REBECCA HALBACH AMONGST OUR CHILDREN OR PETS!

The New Jersey State Parole Board now has the power to rectify this grave injustice by ensuring Halbach does not receive administrative parole release.

We urge the Board to uphold the principles of justice and fairness and consider the suffering inflicted upon innocent lives by Halbach.

We address this call to all citizens with hearts full of compassion for animals and children, and a desire to maintain justice in our society.

I implore that you sign this petition to convey our collective voice, refusing the administrative parole release of Rebecca Halbach.

Let us stand together for justice and make sure that such actions are not rewarded but instead, held accountable.
