Convert Indianapolis Bus Rapid Transit Lines to Light Rail

The Issue

Although I am not a resident of Indianapolis, I believe that all of their "bus rapid transit" lines should be converted to light rail lines. Why, you may ask? Because light rail is more sustainable than bus rapid transit. It can carry more passengers at a time, plus it runs on overhead wire. Many other cities in the United States have implemented light rail such as Norfolk and Dallas, so Indianapolis should follow suit.

Light rail systems are known for their efficiency and environmental benefits. They reduce traffic congestion and lower emissions compared to buses that rely on fossil fuels. Additionally, light rail can provide faster and more reliable service due to dedicated tracks.

Indianapolis has an opportunity to modernize its public transportation system by adopting light rail technology. This change would not only benefit daily commuters but also attract new businesses and tourists looking for efficient urban mobility solutions.

In a separate petition, I have also proposed the construction of a subway (no, not the sandwich chain)
