India Unites For Animals-Worldwide movement for new Humane Laws & Enforcement

The Issue

Animals in India need you! Be part of the social movement, INDIA UNITES FOR ANIMALS, on October 2nd, 2016. Join us to demand new humane laws and their strict enforcement for sake of animals in India. Find your city listed below on the event page. Can’t attend? Please sign and still make the difference!

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” –Mahatma Gandhi

Who should join? Anyone that cares for animals, for India or for both, Animal lovers, Champions of Animal Rights, Vegetarians, Vegans and Peace Lovers.

Why join the protest? Animal suffering is universal. We need to be their voice. There has been a rampage of cases on animal abuse and cruelty in India lately, from horrifying acid attack on animals to heartless vermin killing of wildlife in India. Over the last few months, India has seen its worst ever in animal abuse. From cases such as puppies being burnt alive to mass killing of dogs, from a horse who was also a Police Officer on duty; beaten to death to a five-month old puppy being thrown from a rooftop. Did you know that by simply paying close to a dollar as a fine, you could get away with the animal murder in India? Such is the sorry state of laws that are outdated and were made in 1960 for animals in India. But animals in India, just like animals anywhere else on this planet deserve better, don’t they? So, please join us and save our animals before it’s too late. JOIN THE BIGGEST REVOLUTION FOR ANIMALS IN INDIA, INDIA UNITES FOR ANIMALS, a movement of the world rising together as one unified force! Participate and promote the event!

What is the protest about? We want to know the following from all the members of the Parliament of India:

1. Are you for or against the animals of India? Your answer also decides your future vote-bank in animal rights champions.

2. If you are for the animals, please explain how a country of peace and ahimsa; of Gandhi and Yoga; where cow is considered holy and worshipped as mother; becomes number one exporter of beef and number five exporter of leather in the world? Isn’t it ironic that most of the states have banned beef and cow slaughter and yet our country has no reservations or moral conscience when it comes to earning billions of dollars in revenue from this murderous trade?

3. Why is India ruthlessly exploiting animals in the name of progress? How come:
Penguins that are declared endangered species and native of foreign lands are being brought to its zoos.
Aquarium, consisting of 450 different species of marine life, mostly brought in
from other countries is being built in India.
Animal testing facility; largest in Asia that will house all animals from rabbits to
Primates, mice to horses, is being built on 100 acres of land.

4. Wildlife such as Nilgai, wild boars, rhesus monkeys and national bird peacock is being culled by hundreds; declaring them as vermin. How is this murder spree, a long-term solution for restoration of ecological balance?

5. Elephants in temples are chained, beaten, abused and forced to perform at religious activities that generate millions of dollars in revenue. Is any amount of money worth the suffering of these poor animals that mean us no harm?

6. How soon the new animal laws will be made and brought into action? A bill for renewing the law has already been tabled in the Parliament, how soon will it be passed?

What will we do? On Sunday October 2nd, 2016, we will take your signatures to the Consulate General of India. We want India to know that this abuse, exploitation and oppression of animals will not be tolerated. We recognize that animal suffering is universal and whether it happens in another country or here in the US, it will be opposed. As citizens of the world, we will protest against any kind of abuse that is meted out to animals. We have to let India know that animals are no longer voiceless and without representation. . However, these changes can only take place if we show that we stand united for animals and in big numbers. It’s about letting the world know that we animal lovers are running out of patience, that enough is enough and suffering of animals will be acceptable no more! It is about telling India about the need for strict laws, and law enforcement for animals. This is the largest ever movement conceived and planned of such magnitude - people from all over the world coming together to say NO MORE!
