Opponents of the Heritage Greenway and the local plan argue that the nuisance caused by illegal motorcycles poses too much of a risk for the project to proceed.

Caddington Woods residents, what do we think about this?

We are already acutely aware of this issue. We regularly experience the inconvenience and danger posed by illegal motorcyclists who disrupt our peace and damage the bridleways around our homes. These individuals abandon their vehicle wreckage and even set them on fire. Yet, we are now expected to delay or cancel a much-needed path due to a risk that is already a reality. Just today, several residents reported an incident of illegal motorcycling, which was caught on camera.

This tactic is a classic example of gaslighting, and we will not accept it, nor should the Planning Inspectorate. The issue at hand is one of enforcement and the need for a visible police presence as a deterrent. As I've mentioned before, attempting to use motor vehicles illegally at Caddington Woods without detection is a challenging endeavor due to our vigilant and watchful community.

We should not be denied the benefits of the Heritage Greenway based on an issue that exists regardless of the project's approval. It is so frustrating that we cannot get move forward with the path we want and support.
