Construct Activity Centers over Additional Restaurants and Hotels

The Issue

Our community finds solace at the mall, the park, the skating rink, and the aviation museum. While these places hold a special place in our hearts, our need for diversified activities for the community is glaring. We need more places like community centers where we can connect and engage on a personal level. Our plea is simple – build more activity centers and steer away from constant construction of restaurants and hotels.

Statistics from the National Recreation and Park Association affirm the role of community centers in enhancing the social fabric by promoting wellness, fostering human development, increasing cultural unity, and offering therapeutic recreation services. As The Aspen Institute project Play argues, "Community recreation spaces aren’t just nice-to-haves, they are must-haves".

We must enrich our city with more spaces that breathe life and encourage community growth and personal development. Join us in persuading our local government to prioritize the construction of activity centers. Sign this petition and render your support to enliven the spirit of our community.
