The Issue

Wildlife in Kenya desperately needs your help against an evolving world where human encroachment threatens several species that once roamed free between the vast Nairobi area, to the Athi-Kapiti plains and all the way down to Amboseli.

Nairobi National Park faces encroachment with more people putting vast pressure on the land. It has shrunk to give space to build Wilson airport, as well as the South C area. Towards Kitengela and Langata, lions are constantly found roaming outside people's compounds which is a huge risk to public safety. A few months ago, Amboseli's Loonkito, the oldest lion in East Africa, was speared to death by headers. In a classic case of human wildlife conflict Loonkito wandered into a Maasai Boma and consequently lost his life.

The proposed wildlife pathway will be an important corridor that will allow the various species of animals to move freely from the vagaries of motorways in response to climate change and urban development.

This petition demands:

1. The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Heritage and Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) in conjunction with partner agencies and Ministries construct a wildlife pathway between Nairobi National Park and Athi-Kapiti Plains.

Please sign this petition to call for the construction of a wildlife pathway between Nairobi National Park and Athi-Kapiti Plains in order to preserve our wildlife.
