Good Evening Conserve Henry Petitioners,

As you may or may not have seen or heard, on October 30th, 2023 at 9:00 am the Henry County Board of Commissioners passed the updated FLUM (Future Land Use Map). As a recap;

District 5 Commissioner, Kevin J. Lewis has called a Town Hall Meeting at 6:00 pm on November 29th, 2023 at The Henry County Admin Building at 140 Henry Pkwy, McDonough, GA 30253. We encourage everyone to mark their calendars to attend as the map, as approved, impacts all residents, especially in District 5.  Please spread the word to your neighbors and click here to download the event flyer and post it on your social media.

As for the FLUM Map itself, we are in the process of requesting a repeal or denial from the Atlanta Regional Commission of the approved map.  In the meantime we please encourage everyone to pay attention to any blue rezoning signs you see in your area (they look like this here). That sign means there is likely a rezoning in that area and it will list the date and place of the meeting where you can attend and voice your opinion/concerns. As Henry County is rapidly growing, it is vital we pay attention to these signs, mark our calendars, and get involved to shape our community. Many times citizens do not attend and these developments get easily passed without any citizen input.
