Every weekday afternoon, Route 741 buses leave Riverstone Station about 4 minutes before each T1 train arrives. Students and commuters returning to The Gables wait 25 to 26 minutes for every connection between 4 pm and 7 pm.

4:15 pm train → 4:40 pm bus
4:44 pm train → 5:10 pm bus
5:14 pm train → 5:40 pm bus
5:44 pm train → 6:10 pm bus
6:14 pm train → 6:40 pm bus
6:44 pm train → 7:10 pm bus
School children arriving around 4:11 pm and CBD commuters on the 5:11 pm and 5:45 pm trains all face this wait. Many families give up and drive.

We call on Transport for NSW and the NSW Government to:

Retime afternoon Route 741 services to depart 5 to 10 minutes after T1 arrivals at Riverstone.
Add peak services or improve Route 740 capacity for The Gables and Box Hill.
Extend Route 741 coverage further into The Gables estate.
