From most neighborhoods in Houston, it may seem all but impossible to access Memorial Park by bike. Getting there from the bayou greenways, Houston's most heavily-used bikeways, requires careful planning and a healthy dose of bravery.

That needs to change. Riding your bike to the park shouldn't require bravery.

While there are no shortage of ideas and plans for connecting Memorial Park with White Oak, Buffalo, and Brays bayous, little to date has been built toward that goal. And with so many stakeholders involved in the potential connections — the City of Houston, Uptown TIRZ, TxDOT, CenterPoint, Memorial Park Conservancy — it will take a major coordinated effort to connect Memorial Park with our bayou greenways.
