Every memorial day and fourth of July, fireworks are blown off constantly and at all hours of the day. Fireworks for people with heart problems, Veterans and people with PTSD, the elderly, and all animals are deadly. Recently an article popped up of an elderly dog who died on the fourth of july because of the fireworks. There are plenty of places on Long Island to view fireworks. It is beyond unnecessary and inconsiderate for people in all neighborhoods to be blowing them off anyway. Each year we have to prepare days in advance to try and make our dog as comfortable as can be as he becomes stressed and upset during these times. Fireworks are ILLEGAL in the state of NY to begin with!. Please join me in asking County Executive Laura Curran and Congressman Peter King with help in enforcing the no fireworks much more stronger in Nassau county. There is also a such thing as SILENT FIREWORKS. This could also be helpful. Hopefully if we can help this problem, other counties and states will follow.
