Yesterday afternoon the American Bar Association took a vote on the controversial Resolution 114, which would have embraced an affirmative consent standard for sexual activities and promoted "trauma-informed" ideology.
The result: Delegates voted 256-165 to defeat the measure.
Delegate Lara Brazelon tweeted, "Drama on the floor of the ABA House of Delegates but Resolution 114--the sexual assault consent resolution-- went down. The vote to postpone indefinitely any action on the resolution won. It was close: 256-165. The delegates had to stand to be counted."
And here's the press release from the Center for Prosecutor Integrity.
Naturally, the trauma-informed ideologues will carry on like nothing happened. Still, it was a sweet victory. Thanks to all of you who helped oppose this measure.
