With the recent traumatic event that occurred on MNF involving Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin, I just feel it’s right to circulate this petition again as I made it a couple years back. It has been relieving to hear how he is progressing well, and trending upward in his road to recovery. This unfortunate, and heartbreaking event affected everyone nationwide. The Assistant Athletic Trainer Denny Kellington, both teams medical staffs as well as the first responders did everything they could, as quickly and efficiently as possible to save Damar. Their actions, and execution of emergency medical care saved his life. It is unfortunate it took this event to put Athletic Trainers in the spotlight a little more, but it just goes to show how vital it is to have a Certified Athletic Trainer on staff at sporting events. Every athlete deserves an Athletic Trainer. Every. Athlete. Youth sports, to the elite level of the pro’s; your child, your family members, deserve an Athletic Trainer. 

Another event happened as well in Hockey, where the Athletic Trainer, Rachel Leahy saved an athletes life. 

Whether or not it was nationally viewed by 23.8million people, it is just as important to note that another Athletic Trainer, saved a life.
