This is important because, November 19, 2011 children under the age of 8 years of age witnessed their mother being murdered in their home. This petition is asking Congress to pass legislature mandating an additional 5 year sentence to anyone whom commits a crime in the presence of children added to their sentence. Children should not have to live with the pain and trauma and a lifelong flash of any horrific experience having to have PTSD or other mental Illnesses classified in the DSM5.
