Sens. Wyden and Grassley take on the CEOs of 7 major pharmaceuticals, including Sanofi's CEO Olivier Brandicourt.  Not one of them offered help to bring the drug prices down.  They asked the government for help.  The only way the government can help is to regulate this industry before it's gets more out of control.  They said they have to raise the list price because the PBMS won't put their medicines on the formularies if they don't pay them more money.  The PBMS and ins. co. need to be regulated as well.  They are a big part of the blame.  Wyden told them that American's are tired of the pharmaceutical companies using them as their person ATMS and said:  "Nothing could justify this sudden price hike a century later. Diabetics who can't afford the cost now self ration and endanger their lives, but you know what? The investors are happy."  If you look at the stocks of the pharmaceuticals, the pharmacies (CVS, Walgreen's) and insurance companies, they have all benefited in rises in stocks.  The only company that had bad reporting was Tandem Diabetes, the maker of the T-Slim insulin pump.  There are too many levels of people involved that take a cut out of the end cost which is coming from the sick person's bank account.
