Privar a cualquier niño/a de una lengua es quitarle el derecho de desarrollar adecuadamente sus emociones y pensamientos desde los primeros años de vida. Desde hace décadas, miles de niños/as sordos/as e hipoacúsicos/as continúan sin lograr una fluidez nativa y un dominio completo de al menos un idioma natural, siendo perjudicados en su posterior desarrollo personal e inserción social.

Con la Lengua de Señas Argentina (LSA), los/as niños/as sordos/as logran acceder a un desarrollo lingüístico-cognitivo acorde a su edad. De esa manera se previene la privación lingüística y se garantiza posteriormente el pleno ejercicio de las facultades, derechos humanos, civiles, culturales y políticos de esos/as niños/as Sordos/as.

Pedimos una ley que reconozca oficialmente la Lengua de Señas Argentina como idioma natural de las personas sordas en todo el territorio argentino.

To deprive any child of a language is to deprive them of the right to adequately develop their emotions and thoughts from the first years of life. For decades, thousands of deaf and hard of hearing children have been prevented from achieving native fluency and complete command of at least one natural language. Instead, they have been impaired in their subsequent personal development and social engagement. 

With the Argentine Sign Language (LSA), deaf children gain access to linguistic-cognitive development according to their age. In this way, language deprivation is prevented, and the full exercise of the faculties, human, civil, cultural, and political rights of these Deaf children is subsequently guaranteed.

We ask for a law that officially recognizes Argentine Sign Language as the natural language of deaf people throughout the Argentine territory.
