On January 2, 2025, a town hall meeting facilitated by the Black Economic Social Cultural Youth Civic Employment Region, from the Peel Region of Ontario.

The meeting was attended by hundreds of concerned members from the Black Community, and community professionals such as David Mitchell, Andre Fullerton, the Honorable Jean Augustine, and Detective/Constable Paul Grigoriou were present there as well.

Concerns with the lack of mainstream media coverage and public awareness regarding the sudden disappearance of black male and female teens was met with stigmatic, and stereotypical responses from law enforcement, with failure to provide a logical explanation as to why the rapid disappearance of our black teens has not been brought to the public's attention!

In addition to this, the missing teens were compartmentalised as black teens coming from broken homes, and being affiliated with gang activity, and possibly being recruited to engage in the illegal distribution of narcotics.

Many were taken a back by these responses and did not leave the town hall meeting satisfied that law enforcement was handling the disappearance of the black teens free from stigmatic beliefs.

Clearly there are too many similarities among the missing teens such as age, their ethnicity, and the time of their disappearance to summarise that they are coming from broken black homes and have runaway as a result!

CTV news spoke about the town hall meeting on 01/03/2025; however, did not identify any of the missing teens and implied that the nameless missing teens disappeared as a result of mental health issues and family crisis in their homes.

Thus far, the equality the Black Community endeavours to achieve for the missing black teens has yet to be attained, and the feedback shared with the public speaks volumes of this!

To date, 13 year old Kymani, 15 year old Malachi, 15 year old Michael, 15 year old Ayden, 16 year old DeAndre, 17 year old Samuel, 14 year old Rachel, 15 year old Breanna, and 14 year old Malia are still missing black teens whose disappearance have never been shared with the general public.

There is no evidence made known to the public that these children come from problematic homes, or have a history of running away; however, law enforcement and mainstream media had no issues in creating this narrative!

The missing teens mentioned are listed on the Missing Children's Society of Canada's website, who works closely with the RCMP to help locate missing children in Canada from all ethnicities; however, the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the black teens has been perceived as the results of mental health issues, broken homes, and possible drug affiliation.

The Black Community demands change in the miscarriage of justice and the level of value placed on our missing black teens, not to mention the impact this has had on their families.

Please share, and sign our petition to demonstrate that our community no longer intends to remain silent, and demand that law enforcement take immediate action in notifying the public about these missing teens, and serve the black community free of barriers and discrimination!
