Condemning Ealing Labour Muslim Councillors role in London Mayoral Election

The Issue

**Petition Condemning Labour Councillors' Support for Labour Party in May London Mayoral Elections**

We, the undersigned Muslims residing in different parts of Ealing Borough, hereby express our strong condemnation of the actions of certain Labour Party Muslim councillors who are actively supporting the Labour Party in the upcoming Mayoral elections in London. We are dismayed by their association with a party that has supported the genocide and famine in Gaza, actions that go against the principles of humanity and justice that we hold dear.

Specifically, we condemn the role of councillors Cllr Shahbaz Ahmed and Cllr Aysha Raza of Central Greenford ward, Cllr Javaid Iqbal of North Greenford ward, Cllr Munir Ahmed and Cllr Tariq Mahmood of Perivale ward, and Cllr Sarfraz Khan of Southall Broadway ward for their support of the Labour Party in light of its stance on Gaza.

We urge our fellow Muslims in Ealing to boycott any events organized by these councillors and to refrain from opening their doors to them when they canvass for the Labour Party. Furthermore, we call upon these councillors to publicly condemn the Labour Party for its support of the Gaza genocide and famine, and to distance themselves from such policies. We invite them to immediately resign from Labour Party or be isolated from our community.

We are also deeply disappointed by these councillors' promotion of Labour Party MPs such as James Murray MP and Virendra Sharma, who have opposed ceasefire efforts and supported Keir Starmer's pro-Israeli statements. Such actions are contrary to the values of justice and peace that our community upholds.

In conclusion, we stand united in our condemnation of these councillors' actions and call for a public apology and a change in their political affiliations. We urge all Muslims in Ealing to join us in this protest against the Labour Party's support for atrocities in Gaza and to demand accountability from those who represent us in local government.

Thank you for your support and solidarity.

Sincerely,
