Large scale protests are occurring in Bangladesh over government job quotas due to 56% of them being given to the sons of “war heroes”. They have gotten violent in the past few days with the student wing (BCL) of the ruling party (Awami league) going to hospitals to beat wounded protestors to death.

 The students have retaliated with nation wide protests & have resorted to occupying universities after the government shut them down to kick the students out of their dorms & they are now under siege by police. The police have started using live bullets & the military has been spotted moving into cities without government orders soon after. On July 18th, an internet & media blackout has occurred, with bodies disappearing since the initial assault by BCL. Without international support, the government’s crackdown is only getting more violent. Please spread awareness of these protests to anybody you may know.

UPDATE: The UN Chief of Human Rights has condemned the attacks. The government has since declared a curfew & has officially deployed the military to shoot anybody found outside of their homes on sight, recent news reports have stated that 105 protestors have been killed in the lead up to a massacre:
