Conception Bay south is a rural community with backbones based on farming and agriculture. Our council has forgotten our roots. We are petitioning the Town of Conception Bay South to revise hobby farming and the inclusion of livestock! Large metropolitan areas such as St. John’s have adopted the ability for residents to own hens as they provide food security and get people involved with nature and the outdoors.  “I personally love seeing Newfoundland going back to traditional ways of living just because we always survived on this old rock the hard way and your right we don’t need one person believing it’s there way or the highway” The people of CBS have spoken and think this is outrageous and silly to not allow a reasonable amount of livestock if space permits. Let’s all get together and change these by-laws for all and let people have a sense of nature in their lives. To al local MHAs that support this please consider this with the election coming up! We as a community want to be able to provide for our families and keep goats, hens, etc. As pets on our properties!
