Complete Ban of Indian Tourist vehicles into Nepal

Complete Ban of Indian Tourist vehicles into Nepal
The issue
As a witness to the repeated violations of basic road and cleanliness rules in tourist-heavy areas, I am compelled to advocate for stronger enforcement measures to safeguard our country from further degradation.
Nepal has long prided itself on its commitment to preserving our natural landscapes and cultural heritage. However, the increasing influx of Indian private vehicles has raised significant concerns. Drivers of these vehicles often disregard local traffic regulations and environmental norms, resulting in adverse effects on the cleanliness and order of our streets. Tourism is integral to Nepal's economy, but it should not come at the cost of our environment.
In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in instances where Indian vehicles have been found violating traffic and environmental rules. According to a study by the Nepal Police, there has been a 30% increase in road accidents involving foreign vehicles, primarily attributed to non-compliance with local traffic laws. Additionally, these vehicles often contribute significantly to litter and pollution in tourist areas.
The lack of stringent enforcement has allowed these transgressions to go unchecked. By implementing measures such as mandatory environmental awareness programs and stricter traffic compliance checks for foreign vehicle drivers at border entry points, we can mitigate these issues effectively.
I am calling on the Ministry of Home Affairs in Nepal to temporarily suspend the entry of Indian private vehicles until these stronger enforcement measures and awareness programs are fully implemented. Tourism can thrive without compromising our natural heritage.
Please join me in urging the Government of Nepal to take immediate action to protect our beloved country for future generations. Sign this petition to ensure that our environment and public spaces are preserved for all to enjoy.
