However, after the dissolution of Bophuthatswana and its integration into South Africa, profound questions remain unanswered. What transpired with the assets and balance sheet of Bophuthatswana? These resources, representing the labor and aspirations of its citizens, are still shrouded in mystery. Citizens deserve to understand what happened to their collective wealth, and how it has been managed, redistributed, or disappeared.

We call on President Cyril Ramaphosa to establish a Commission of Enquiry to thoroughly investigate and transparently report on the fate of Bophuthatswana's assets post-incorporation. This is not merely a bureaucratic request; it is a demand for justice, accountability, and restoration for the former citizens whose lives were directly impacted by these changes.

Globally, examples of transparency and historical rectifications exist and should inspire confidence in South African governance to confront its past with honesty. Cases like the New Zealand Treaty of Waitangi settlements highlight how acknowledging past grievances fosters trust and healing within a nation. Hence, it is imperative to address the concerns of the people who were part of Bophuthatswana.

It is vital for the healing and development of South Africa that past injustices are corrected so that we may move forward together stronger and more united.
