The cost of living crisis is tightening it's grip, many ordinary people besides the vunerable and the elderly are facing tremendous misery, with the further rise in interest rates announced today (02/01/23), things are not looking too well. Read today that a person could not afford to heat her house and was having to use it's cat for warmth, this simply should not be acceptable to the rest of us. The government has steadied the economical side for things for now, but continued large scale strikes are going to have it's toll, eventually better pay offers will have to be made, and with GDP growth so low, the government is going to be cash strapped, making it very difficult to look after everybody who needs help with the cost living crisis. Some needy are going to be left out of the system. That is why it is important those who can affford to help are allowed to help via a 'Compassion Fund', making my petition as relevant now as ever.
