Community support for a transgender humanitarian and compassionate consideration in Canada

Community support for a transgender humanitarian and compassionate consideration in Canada
The Issue
This petition is a show of community support for Ngoc Quan Ngo. We have been informed that there is a possibility of Ngoc Quan not being allowed to stay in Canada permanently and that there is a possibility of his being removed from Canada. We want to show Immigration Canada that removing Ngoc Quan Ngo from Canada and separating him from the life he has built here would be very difficult for him, his family, his friends, and his community.
We request Immigration Canada to not put his in a distressing situation and we, further, want to persuade Immigration Canada to consider granting Ngoc Quan permanent residence based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
Ngoc Quan is citizen of Vietnam. He first arrived in Canada in March 2022, and he has been contributing to parts of the Canadian community since. It goes without saying that, after dedicating his time towards establishing herself here, Canada has become his one and true home. His establishments, associations, and accomplishments have been here. We support his aspirations and request that she is allowed to stay where she belongs. Please let him continue working towards building her future in Canada, a place that she already calls home.
To be denied permanent residency and asked to leave our country would bring great hardship and heartache to Ngoc Quan and his family, especially during this time. Removing him from Canada would cause a distressing situation for him. We do not want to lose such compassionate and driven individuals; his full potentials are yet to be uncovered.
Ngoc Quan is a family-driven individual who cares deeply and loves his family unconditionally. He wants to settle down in Canada and eventually start a family of his own. Ngoc Quan is a member of the LGBT community, and being in Vietnam would hinder Ngoc Quan to fulfill his wish because of the discrimination that has been going on in the society there towards members of this community. This family unit and his future children would be treated differently or even discriminated in society. Ngoc Quan does not want his future children to experience what he had been going through back in Vietnam. His future children might be bullied or looked down upon just because of the family he is coming from.
The pleas for the humanitarian and compassionate grounds application rest greatly in the best interests of him and his family. Without a shred of doubt, we find Ngoc Quan to be an honest and respectful individual and know that he already treats Canada as his home. We know that Ngoc Quan would experience considerable dislocation and it would be very difficult, if not impossible, for him to re-establish himself if he were forced to return to Vietnam. If he is not accorded permanent residence, he would experience considerable hardships.
In his time spent here, Ngoc Quan has fallen in love with our country and has become accustomed to our way of life here. He has become an essential member of the community. He makes friends wherever he goes and knows the importance of communal involvement. He has been actively involved in the community and has been looking to contribute more time towards community development. These bright individuals’ prospects and potential would be limited if he could not remain in Canada permanently.
Coming to Canada has changed his life in a very positive way. His absence would be significantly felt throughout the community. We would be worse off, as a societal group, if he were forced to leave us. Ngoc Quan treats us as his family and community. Please do not let us be separated from one another.
- "Quan was also able to receive direction on how to access health care services for Trans people in Ottawa, through this program and it was a successful navigation for Quan, as Quan was able to be assigned to a transgender specialized doctor and access hormone therapy."
Ngoc Quan is a prime example of what Canada stands for, a rich cultural diversity. Removing him from Canada would be an unspeakable hardship for him, his family, his friends, and the community. He is a valuable and contributing member of society and the community. We know that he will continue to give so much more when he is permitted to stay in Canada permanently. We do not want to lose exceptional individuals with the caliber and potential of him.
As a community, we support this application for permanent residency based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Please allow Ngoc Quan to stay in Canada. Every person undersigned here joins in this request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
