Dear Members of the Denair Unified School District Board of Trustees, School Administration, and Community Members:

We respectfully request your support in establishing a Girls Flag Football Program at Denair High School.

Girls flag football has experienced remarkable growth throughout California and across the nation. Recognizing its increasing popularity and the opportunities it provides for student-athletes, the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) officially sanctioned girls flag football as a high school sport. Since then, hundreds of California high schools have adopted the sport, giving thousands of young women the opportunity to compete, develop leadership skills, and proudly represent their schools.

Unfortunately, Denair High School has yet to offer this opportunity to its students.

As a small but proud community, Denair has many young women who are eager to participate in girls flag football. However, without a program at our local high school, these students are denied the chance to compete in one of the fastest-growing sports in the state. Every student deserves access to athletic programs that encourage teamwork, discipline, confidence, and school pride.

Establishing a girls flag football program would provide significant benefits to our students, our school, and our community by:

* Expanding athletic opportunities for female student-athletes.

* Keeping Denair High School competitive with neighboring schools that already offer girls flag football.

* Encouraging students to remain enrolled at Denair rather than transferring to other schools solely to participate in this sport.

* Increasing student engagement, school spirit, and community pride.

* Strengthening relationships among students, families, coaches, and community members through another positive extracurricular program.

* Demonstrating Denair Unified School District’s commitment to providing equitable athletic opportunities for all students.

Athletics play an essential role in preparing young people for success beyond the classroom. Participation teaches responsibility, perseverance, leadership, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that benefit students throughout their lives. By introducing girls flag football, Denair High School would continue its commitment to supporting student achievement both academically and athletically.

The momentum behind girls flag football continues to grow each year. Schools across California are investing in this program because they recognize its value and the enthusiasm it generates among students and communities alike. We believe Denair should be part of this movement rather than fall behind neighboring districts.

Our students deserve the same opportunities available to athletes throughout California.

We respectfully ask the Denair Unified School District and Denair High School administration to approve the creation of a Girls Flag Football Program as soon as possible. Your support will provide current and future generations of Denair students with an opportunity to participate, compete, and proudly represent our school and community.
