Ministerial Intervention Request 

 Compassionate Family Circumstances We, the undersigned members of the community, respectfully express our support for the Fernandez family and ask that their circumstances be given compassionate consideration. At the centre of our concern is Ezekiel Gerard Fernandez, a 13-year-old Australian citizen who has grown up in Australia and depends on his parents for day-to-day care, guidance, emotional support and stability. Ezekiel also has ongoing health needs, including asthma. We are concerned about the emotional and practical impact on him if his parents are required to leave Australia, particularly the possibility of family separation or Ezekiel having to leave the country that is his home. As members of the community who know and support this family, we believe that keeping Ezekiel together with his parents and maintaining stability in his family life is important to his welfare and wellbeing. We respectfully ask that compassionate consideration be given to the impact of the family's immigration circumstances on Ezekiel as a minor Australian citizen, particularly his wellbeing, health, stability and continued relationship with his parents. We sincerely hope that the family may be given the opportunity to remain together in Australia.
