Our group's fundraising is off to a very strong start thanks to contributions we rec'd via check and on-line at the "gofundme.com" site.   To those who already donated, thank you very much. We surpassed our first milestone of raising sufficient funds to hire an attorney in less than three weeks.  We are meeting with an attorney who specializes in "affordable housing/land use" law on Dec. 11 and expect to retain him (or another similarly qualified attorney) within the next week.  The plan is for the attorney to intervene in the currently pending lawsuit between the Township and the "Fair Share Housing Center, Inc.", which is the group pushing for the construction of hundreds (according to some reports as many as 1,000-1,500) of new units of low/moderate income housing in Moorestown.     Again, we are NOT suing the Township. We are merely attempting to enter into the lawsuit that has been going on since July 2015 to make sure the interests of Moorestown residents are being adequately considered. We are now working toward our second milestone of raising funds to hire a professional planner who will be able to evaluate (and criticize) the Council's current plan of building 150 low income rental apartments on Hartford Road.   Many of us are busy and focus on other issues, particularly this time of year.  But, if you have a moment, please consider this issue and the importance of hiring appropriate professionals to challenge this plan and to make sure that appropriate due diligence is being performed by the Council before they approve this housing project.   We welcome your donations, made payable to "MARIFHO Group, LLC", and mailed to either my attention: Rob Paglione 146 Oakmont Dr., Moorestown NJ 08057; or our Treasurer, David Greenbaum, 207 Eagle Court, Moorestown NJ 08057.
