The Fort Bend County Fair is almost over, and I’m asking the Fair Association to offer one affordable opportunity for families on Friday, October 2, or Saturday, October 3.

We understand that children are out of school on the fair’s first day, but many parents still have to work. We appreciate the weekday discounts, but families often can’t use them when children have school and parents have work.

The Fort Bend County Fair Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission includes benefiting youth and supporting education.  Supporting our community should include families facing financial hardship not only families who qualify as low income or receive government assistance. Some families are working hard but still don’t have extra money for fair admission and rides.

Please offer reduced-price admission and ride wristbands for a few hours on October 2 or 3. Let’s help children come to school Monday with happy memories of the fair to share, instead of feeling left out because their family had to choose between paying rent and going to the fair.
