A humble effort to share and bring awareness about events during the days from June 1 through June 10th in 1984. 

This year marks the 40th anniversary of 1984 Sikh massacres.

Not enough people know about the 1984 Sikh genocide (Operation Blue Star) and the tragic events which subsequently took place, in which Sikhs were tortured, murdered and raped, in India, by the police and organized criminals facilitated by the Government of India.

The Government of India (1984) conducted a cruel operation named Operation Blue Star and attacked the most sacred shrine of Sikhs; The Golden Temple, in Amritsar, Punjab, India. Hundreds of innocent pilgrims/civilians, which included ; children, mothers, elderly and young men and women, were brutally and mercilessly killed and tortured. Children, women and men were shot point blank, burnt alive, mutilated and tied to the vehicles and dragged alive in the streets. No words can bring the real picture of what happened during that time. 

These horrific events have been described by many as genocide. These murders fall under the category of crimes against humanity on parity with genocides worldwide.

A request to the World leaders, and to the leaders of The United States of America in particular, to acknowledge these events as an act against humanity and Sikhs, release a press note strongly condemning these actions in which thousands of innocent Sikh lives were lost, thousands of families uprooted.

Together we commemorate and pay respects to all the lives lost and affected on the 40th anniversary of the 1984 Sikh massacres.
