Cancel 'An Evening with Floyd Mayweather'

Cancel 'An Evening with Floyd Mayweather'
The Issue
On Tuesday 2 February 2016, Floyd Mayweather, famous for boxing and infamous for being a convicted woman beater who has shown no remorse, has been booked to appear at Bristol's Colston Hall. For a more detailed account of the extent of this man's mysogyny click here.
In England and Wales, two women are killed every week at the hands of their partner, and on a worldwide scale one in three women will suffer domestic or sexual violence from their partner. In Bristol, that works out as 71,000 women.
Someone you know is experiencing this right now.
At a time when services in Bristol and in the UK that support these women are being stripped of funding and forced to close down, it is an outrage that a publicly funded institution such as Colston Hall is choosing to host a violent serial criminal like Floyd Mayweather.
It is an insult to the 71,000 women at risk in Bristol, who deserve to live in a city where perpetrators of gender violence are not held up as heroes in the very establishments their own tax money has helped fund.
This petition has been set up to encourage Bristol Music Trust and Colston Hall to rethink this decision, and to cancel this event.
Please sign and share to help us send a strong message to the hosts of this event, and to anyone who willingly looks the other way while women suffer the violence of men like Floyd Mayweather.
