The Issue
On Sunday June 6th ColourPop posted this image as a hint to their next collection.

As you can see from this image it gives off very NEON / 80s vibes. Everyone immediately assumed it was going to be a NEON collection.
The next day, Monday June 7th, Colourpop released the first photo of the upcoming collection called “Neon Electric”. See photos here.
Much to our dismay it ended up NOT being what we thought it was going to be. It was a collection of three 5 pan NEUTRAL palettes that each have ONE (barely) NEON shade in it. In fact I think out of the 3 there is only one true neon shade and it is the pink one. Along with the palettes there are some neon LIPS. Turns out they’re only lip OILS, so they are barely even a tint let alone neon.
They got so much negative feedback (see the comments here) that they CHANGED THE NAME of the collection to “POP OF NEON”… still the people weren’t happy. That’s the only thing they did, and they didn’t acknowledge the fact that their customers were angry. They quietly changed the name and kept trying to push us to buy it.
We don’t want it. WE WANT THE NEONS WE THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO GET. So Colourpop, please give us a neon collection. We want NEON SUPER SHOCKS, not a palette. We want NEON OPAQUE lip products, we want neon blushes, we want neon liners. We want NEON EVERYTHING. Lay off the neutral and live up to the COLOUR in your name.
also, please give us some duochromes and you know what else would be awesome?
MULTICHROME SUPER SHOCK SHADOWS. Y’all please get into the multichrome game already. All these other indie companies are doing it, why aren’t you? Multichrome super shock shadows would blow everyone else’s multichrome out of the water and you know it. We don’t care if they’ll cost more than the $6 price of a super shock shadow. We will pay the premium price for a multichrome sss with a smile on our face.
SUPER SHOCK SHADOWS is what made Colourpop. Give them some love again and maybe give us some in other finishes besides the ultra glitter that you have been loving so much.
