Colorado State University has over 30,000 students. Bike theft is a huge issue on campus. Bikes are great for the health of the people and the environment. Hundreds of bikes are stolen off of the campus every year. Every bike rack by a dorm should be very well lit at night with a highly visible security camera system. These could be powered by solar energy to stay "green". Large signs should be posted by these cameras to deter thieves even more. Sign this petition to show the leaders of Colorado State that we want our property to be protected while we are staying in the dorms. This investment would help the environment, the students, and the community of Fort Collins in deterring bike thieves.
