Some new photos were added to the Public Album of moments Strawberry Fields. It's so very clear why they want it so very badly. It's GORGEOUS, historic parkland that Helen Hunt herself along with that Gazette fought passionately to make public to avoid the tolls/fees of private ownership in that 1885 vote of the people the City attorney could NOT seem to find after scouring and exhaustive research. Maybe her library card had expired?
By the way, several people heard at the Parks Board meeting that fencing the 8.5 acres will, in fact, happen as we anticipated. Did everyone else hear that? That will be great for public access and wildlife. So much for no fences. It would be so terrific if these details were written down and explained specifically. We also heard that the public has the same access as any guest of the Broadmoor. So, curious, we looked up the rate for a night in July 2016. They start at $422 and go to $1322 (for the cottages). Haven't heard how much additional they will cost, but those BBQ beans and potato salad better be awesome. Ditto for the live music, one would expect to be at any respectable hoedown, bouncing off the canyon walls. Wonder if the City will provide ear plugs to the wildlife, nearby residents, and Cheyenne Canon park visitors/hikers as part of this recreational opportunity?
