Cut CollegeBoard's Single-Use Plastic Use

Cut CollegeBoard's Single-Use Plastic Use
The Issue
CollegeBoard Inc. is an educational monopoly that has strong influence over every high school student in the United States.
CollegeBoard is known for administering SAT and AP exams. Every year during AP season, CollegeBoard double shrink-wraps all their exams in single-use plastic for test security. This is ironic because amongst all the exams they administer, they also administer an Environmental Science exam, which teaches students to fight against companies using unnecessary single-use plastics.
Doing the math from a statistic of students who took at least one AP exam in 2017 (1.1 million), a minimum of 2.86 million square feet of single-use shrink-wrap is used per AP exam season. This number doesn't account for all the students taking more than one exam, nor the increase of students taking AP classes since 2017.. Given the fact that they are a $1.12 billion company, they should be able to convert to a more sustainable wrap for their tests and still preserve test security.
Given the plethora of single-use plastic alternatives we have available in this day and age, such as plant-based plastics or even paper, CollegeBoard should be able to convert to a sustainable wrap.
Sign my petition and help bring awareness to CollegeBoard of how their use of shrink-wrap is unnecessary when there are many viable, sustainable options to use instead of polyolefin (the most common used plastic in making cellophanes and shrink-wraps). Let's help save the planet, one shrink-wrapped test at a time!
