The Issue

I, along with many others, have been devoted collectors in the Beckett Grading Community for years. We take pride and joy in curating and grading our collections, trusting Beckett Grading Services to maintain a standardized and fair grading system. However, this has been an ongoing issue that has gotten worse over time. That trust has been severely undermined by the actions of one grader, Brooke.

Brooke's grading practices have raised significant concern amongst the community. Her personal standards and subjective approach have consistently resulted in unfair grades and being graded much more harshly than the other graders. Her grading scale does not align with the typical grading criteria used amongst the rest of the graders at Beckett. This is not just about a few isolated incidents; it's a widespread problem that has been known in our community for quite some time.

Her actions have significant repercussions. On the surface, internally Beckett feels like she's an asset because of the speed she grades. She is one of, if not the fastest grader at Beckett, thus leading to her grading more people's cards. Below the surface, the problem is because she consistently grades on an extreme difficulty scale compared to all the other graders at Beckett, thus leading to what many would deem are terrible grades. She stands alone on her grading difficulty scale. It’s a common theme when someone gets “blanked” on a submission; we all already know it was Brooke who graded it.

Brooke’s grading method is directly alienating:

- New customers that try Beckett and get Brooke. It is a common theme from her to give zero Beckett 10s in a large submission. That directly stops new customers from wanting to send more to Beckett.

- As a result of her grading methods, less people end up collecting and grading with Beckett. Which leads to Beckett graded slabs not getting its maximum potential value. Look at a company like PSA; they are king because they have the most slabs in the most customers' hands.

Brooke's method is terrible for collectors and for business despite her “fastest” grading speed.

It's disheartening for those who have invested time, money, and passion into their collections, only to see them undervalued due to her methods of grading alienating current customers and new customers. As loyal Beckett supporters, we feel deceived by these grading discrepancies. It is vital for Beckett to uphold its reputation for fairness and accuracy. Brooke’s continued employment as a grader damages that reputation and will further handicap the growth of Beckett Grading. Her presence acts as a deterrent to collectors who might be interested in engaging with Beckett Grading but are now hesitating due to these concerns.

We urge Beckett Grading Services to consider the impact Brooke's unjust grading practices have on the community and to take swift but correct action. Beckett can restore trust within the collector community and ensure an unbiased, consistent, reputable service. Please sign this petition to support fairness in grading standards and integrity in card grading. Speed is not everything! Help us restore confidence in Beckett and protect the future of trading card collecting.
