Disclaimer: This petition is to show our collective support and concerns as parents, students and the wider community; to the authorities involved at Sandwich Technology School - local and national, that may have influenced Mr Sharples’ decision to step down. Although I have made Mr Sharples aware of our petition, he is not affiliated with this in anyway.
This is NOT to apply further pressure to Mr Sharples or his family. 

Mr. Simon Sharples has been a shining beacon of hope for Sandwich Technology School, which was once only a skeleton of its potential due to former poor leadership and mismanagement. His governance marked a turning point for our school, as he became more than just a headteacher; he has become the beating heart of our school community.

Under Mr. Sharples' leadership, the school has transformed into a safe, effective, and often groundbreaking learning environment. His positive policies have not had the time and momentum to reflect on academic performance as of yet,  but they have fostered a supportive atmosphere for both students and teachers. His commitment to educational excellence and personal integrity have inspired trust and respect from everyone involved in the school's community.

Without his leadership, we face uncertainty and fear about what might become of the significant progress we have made. We risk losing the momentum that has been built, inch by inch, under his guidance. Mr. Sharples's resignation is a loss we cannot afford.

The stability and continued growth of Sandwich Technology School hinge on his presence and ongoing leadership. We believe in the vision he has set for our school and the values he imparts in our students.

We urge the governing body of Sandwich Technology School to consider the immeasurable impact of Mr. Sharples's leadership on our students, teachers, and the broader community. Accepting his resignation is not enough—the political bodies that exerted untenable pressure & drove him to this decision,  must be held accountable.
