Collective Liberation of Justice for ICE Detainees at Mesa Verde and Golden State Annex

The Issue

ICE Facility detainees across the country are following a hunger strike to protest the detention's abuse of human rights. Hunger strikers at the Mesa Verde and Golden State Annex ICE Processing Facilities are going into their second week of protest as one detainee claimed he will continue "until [he] drops". We need to find all measures to raise awareness, stand-up, and protest for these immigrant detainees in need of our support. This is an attack not only at our basic human rights, but of our racial demographic as well which is why we mustn't be silent about this movement. Sign and share the petition to raise awareness and bring attention of this vital issue to our local and state lawmakers/politicians.

Immigrant detainees are currently experiences various forms of modern racial oppression from demographics including, but not limiting to:

  • “Slavery Wages” of $1 a Day
  • Extended Solitary Confinement
  • Delayed Medical Treatment
  • Limitation of Rights
  • Unjust Holding/Not Proper Appeal Process Provided
  • Unlawful Abuse
  • Family Separation
  • Unreasonable Wages/Labor

JOIN THE PROTEST March 5th held at the ICE Mesa Verda Processing Facility where immigrant detainees are following an ongoing hunger strike for over two weeks to protest the unjustifiable detention and treatment they are experiencing from unreasonable denial of release to unspecified solitary confinement. One case reported to have over 200 pages of evidence proving one’s rehabilitation and innocence in regards to being detained, and was rejected release within 19 MINUTES of submitting the report. Is this how ICE agents “thoroughly analyze” one’s documents to ensure equal and just release? Out of the 14 known detainees who have reportedly appealed for release, 8 have already been rejected as the number continues to grow. Furthermore, the GEO group and CoreCivic has grossed over $550 Million in 2021 alone respectively from contracts made with the ICE. Reportedly paying detainees $1/per day of work. This unjust form of labor is a form of oppression and is an attack on all immigrants and especially Latinx communities-- sign the petition, join the protest, and raise awareness. Additionally, the Supreme Court made a formal decision that ICE detainees can stay imprisoned INDEFINITELY. Where are our basic human and constitutional rights?

What can we do about it? Join us this Sunday at the MESA VERDA ICE Processing Facility and next Saturday at Grand Park in Los Angeles as we act for change and help support the freedom of our nation’s immigrants.

Another protest will be held this Saturday, MARCH 11th at 12pm at Grand Park in Los Angeles to protest the brutal and inhumane conditions all immigrant detainees are experiencing across the nation.
